HJT Section Rules & Instructions

IMPORTANT:
The only people allowed to post instructions regarding HJT are official helpers. Report any logs outside of the HJT section as "Other".


Posters who do this will get the following -
First offense: 10% or verbal warning by staff
Second offense and after: Limited account

If that doesn't help, then follow these instructions:

1. Create a new thread and title it:
   

   Quote:[HJT log] - your problem

   
   Example: [HJT log] Antispyware 2009 pop ups
   
   Please make sure you describe your problems to us as detailed as possible in your thread. This helps us determine how to proceed.
2. In your thread, please include:
   • HJT log
   • MBAM log
     

============================How to get the required logs================================

Step 1:

• Download HijackThis from Trend Micro.
• Run the installer. By default, it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis
• Once it is done installing, run HijackThis.
• Select Do a system scan and save logfile.
• Once HijackThis is done scanning, a notepad will pop up with the HJT log.
• Copy and paste the contents of the log into your own seperate thread at the forum.
  

Step 2:
Please download Malwarebytes' AntiMalware.

Double click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Once the program has loaded, select Perform Full Scan, then click Scan.
  The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart. Restart if it tells you to.
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
• Copy and paste the entire report in your next reply.
