Hello createchs,

in most cases you can't change your IP adress yourself, but you could contact your ISP and ask them to change it for you.

Try tor browser, you may learn about proxy alot by it, and change manually your IP whenever you want.

RE: Want to learn something about IP and proxy
You can just re-connect your modem/router from the electricity and you're IP will change..

RE: Want to learn something about IP and proxy
If you're running on DHCP then if you were to restart your modem and wait about a minute before reconnecting, when your computer contacts the router, the router will give it a new random ip address. If you have a static IP address you'll have to talk to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) about getting a new IP.

If you're talking about just browsing and stuff, when you use a "proxy" it's because you connect to a computer and then the computer connects to the website you want to go to, so the website sees the computer you've connected to and not your computer. These can of course be traced if you aren't careful and sometimes leave behind information that will point directly back to your computer.

I tend to use proxies when I use emails. Emails contain IP addresses in their headers, so if you send someone an email, they can extract your ip address from your email and launch attacks on your computer. So I connect my email clients through a proxy and it re-routs my connection so my email is safe.
