For those new to BackTrack.
For those new to BackTrack.
At a lot of security related forums I see 2 questions asked often concerning people who are new to Linux and decided to use BackTrack. Question 1: Where to download BackTrack. BackTrack is free and can be downloaded from the following link: Download Question 2:How do I open the KDE? On the command line type: Quote:startx Question 3: My internet does not work why? BackTrack is meant for pen testing and therefore requires you to start up the networking utility. You do this by opening a shell and typing: Quote:/etc/init.d/networking start |

This is a very good thread, I encourage more people to ask questions here so that they can be updated in the thread by Kitt3n.

RE: For those new to BackTrack.
In order to use Backtrack (live) to crack into local wifi networks, you must have a built-in and supported wifi chipset.
Also, i highly recommend backtrack live over the installation, because it is more portable and you can use it on any laptop with a wifi card. |

RE: For those new to BackTrack.
Didn't know backtrack had a gui. Anyways, I hope to see you add more stuff to the guide in the future. this will help me learn a bit more about security trying to crack my own stuff. xD
